With over 20 years of experience in the field, Greg Upwall is a licensed architect in Virginia, Maryland, and the District of Columbia. He is a LEED Accredited Professional, and Certified Passive House Consultant. From 2004 to 2009, he taught at the Graduate School of Architecture at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco, and as Adjunct Faculty at The Catholic University of America, School of Architecture & Planning in Washington DC since 2010. His hobbies include urban gardening, furniture making, painting, and film making. He lives in the Logan Circle neighborhood in DC, and likes to spend free time exploring the backroads in his 1990 VW Westfalia Vanagon.

I relocated from Nicaragua to the US to pursue my Master of Architecture at CUA where I joined the Sacred and Cultural Spaces concentration. I became part of Studio Upwall in 2021, bringing my previous experience in Architecture and Interior design of commercial and residential projects. I enjoy traveling and spending time outdoors.

I joined Studio Upwall in 2024, bringing with me a diverse background in single-family homes, mixed-use developments, and multi-family residential projects. As the first generation in my family to earn a master’s degree, I am deeply committed to leveraging my education and experience to contribute to impactful design solutions. Outside of my professional work, I enjoy outdoor activities, spending quality time with family, and exploring new experiences.
